Final Declaration 40th Contingent of the “José Martí” European Brigade

Los Brigadistas del 40 Contingente de la Brigada Europea “José Martí”, luego de  cumplimentar un amplio programa de visitas y de sostener encuentros con representantes genuinos del pueblo cubano expresamos: 1) Nuestra más rotunda condena al bloqueo injusto y unilateral que por más de 5 décadas los diferentes gobiernos de EE.UU. han impuesto a la Revolución Cubana, al tiempo que exigimos su total levantamiento sin condicionamiento alguno.

2) Respaldamos el derecho del pueblo cubano a su autodeterminación, independencia, soberanía y su decisión de avanzar en la construcción de una sociedad socialista basada en la justicia social, el desarrollo integral y sostenible.

3) Exigimos la supresión total y sin condicionamientos de la POSICIÓN COMÚN asumida por la UE.,  a quienes exhortamos  respeten la decisión soberana del pueblo cubano.
We, the brigadistas of the 40th Contingent of the “José Martí” European Brigade, after a vast program and meetings with genuine representatives of the Cuban people, express:

1) Our total condemnation of the unjust and unilateral blockade that different US administrations have imposed   upon the Cuban Revolution for more than five decade, as we demand  total and  unconditional lifting of these blockade.

2) Our support of the right of the Cuban people to self determination, sovereignty  and decision to move forward in the construction of a socialist society base on social justice, and integrated and sustainable development.

3) Our demand of the total and unconditional lifting of the Common Stand of the European Union.

4) Our condemnation of the illegal occupation of a part of the Cuban territory for more than one century, used by the United States as a Naval Military Base in Guantanamo, turned into one the most repugnant  centers of human rights violations throughout the world.

5) Our denunciation the double standards of the U.S. Administration regarding international terrorism, and demand that the international terrorist Posada Carriles be judged for his crimes.

6) Our demand for the immediate release of the 5 Cuban Heroes, unfairly incarcerated in U.S. jails for more than 13 years, who, along with their families have suffered violations of their basic human  rights.

7) Our firm commitment so that a larger number of friends in the world could be made aware of the Cuban reality, the cause of the Cuban 5 in order to strengthen solidarity with the Cuban Revolution.

8) Our commitment to continue with the promotion of the international work brigades and of solidarity with Cuba, specifically the European, Nordic and May Day Brigades, as well as the Colloquiums for the release of the Cuban 5 and against Media Terrorism, aware that these opportunities are vital to enable more people in the world to experience the reality of Cuba first hand, and get involved in solidarity with the Cuban Revolution.

9) Our commitment to disseminate and put into practice the Declaration for the Cuban 5 adopted on 5th July at the “Julio Antonio Mella” International Camp.
